All the world's waiting for you, and the power you possess

 

This post comes a little late. I couldn't fail to make reference to Lynda Carter, who turned her birthday on July 24th, because she played my favourite superhero, Wonder Woman in the TV series and which in my country was translated as Superwoman. I spun on my heels imagining the transformation I saw in every episode... I made silver bracelets with stars to have super powers and I never tired of jumping and jumping off the walls, wondering how I could jump over the buildings in pursuit of the bad guys.

 I cut out every magazine and newspaper that had a picture of Lynda Carter in Wonder Woman clothes. I've drawn Wonder Woman over and over again. I also had my Wonder Woman paper doll designed by me on cereal box cardboard. It didn't resist the passage of time... But I have another one more recent drawn by me.When I took a look at the web, I found some paper dolls, which unfortunately I don't have in my collection, but which I would like to share with you here.

 Este post vem um pouco atrasado. Eu não podia deixar de fazer referência a Lynda Carter, que fez anos no passado dia 24 de julho, porque interpretou a minha super heroína preferida, a Wonder Woman na serie de televisão e que no meu país se traduziu por Super-mulher. Eu rodopiava nos calcanhares imaginado a transformação que via em todos os episódios... eu fazia braceletes prateadas com estrelas para ter super poderes e não me cansava de dar pulos e saltos de cima dos muros, imaginando como poderia saltar por cima dos prédios em perseguição dos bandidos. Eu recortava todas as revistas e jornais que tivessem uma imagem da Lynda Carter em roupas de Wonder Woman. Eu desenhei vezes sem conta a Wonder Woman. Também tive a minha paper doll da Wonder Woman desenhada por mim em cartão das caixas de cereais. Não resistiu à passagem do tempo... Ao dar uma vista de olhos na web fui encontrando algumas paper doll, que infelizmente não tenho na minha coleção, mas que gostaria de partilhar aqui convosco.

I found this book with fantastic watercolor illustrations that allow us to travel through the fashion eras from 1907 to the 80s. As you can see on the cover of the book, each illustration features a nude model, like a paper doll, and the successive layers of underwear all the way to the complete look. Each illustration has a brief comment. 

I selected these two models because the first model reminds me of Brigitte Bardot (I want to be simple, wild and sexy - she said).

The other one who reminds you? :-)

    Encontrei este livro com fantásticas ilustrações em aquarela que nos permitem viajar pelas eras da              moda desde 1907 até aos anos 80. Como pode ver na capa do livro cada ilustração traz uma modelo nua,        como uma paper doll, e as sucessivas camadas de roupa desde as íntimas até ao look completo. Cada ilustração possui um breve comentário. Selecionei esses dois modelos porque a  primeira modelo lembra-me a Brigitte Bardot (eu quero ser simples, selvagem e sexy - disse ela) A outra quem vos faz lembrar? :-)

 I saw this paper doll and I couldn't resist to share. I don't know why but paper dolls about profession allways caugth my attetion. You can see my older post about it.
Ok, I have to confess it is not, in my personal opinion, a paper doll in the traticional way but it can be accepted as a version of new paper dolls. Do you agree?

 

Eu vi esta paper doll e eu não pude resistir a partilhar. Não sei por que, mas paper doll sobre profissão sempre atraíram a minha atenção. Pode ver meu post mais antigo sobre o memso tema. Ok, devo confessar que não é, na minha opinião pessoal, uma paper doll na forma traticional, mas pode ser aceite como uma versão das novas paper doll. Concorda?

A marca assumiu o desafio de criar roupas interior com as cores da seleção nacional de futebol. Adequado para estes tempos. :-)

Mr. Tom Tierney's work never ceases to amaze me. 

 

One of these days I was on the web looking for news about paper dolls and suddenly my eyes were caught by this paper doll by Andre Agassi, a famous tennis player from the late 80's. I can't tell you to much about Andre Agassi. I only remember to see him on the pages of german Bravo magazine, but I couldn't read because I didn't know a word of german. I only bought the magazine because I followed another artist who filled the pages of Bravo.

 

At that time his haircut was fashion... that's why I noticed him. I was just a teenager who would like a haircut like him!

 

 I can't say to much about it, I only know that it was printed in Tennis magazine in the July 1991 issue, but I'm sure you enjoy it as much as I do.

O trabalho do Sr. Tom Tierney nunca pára de me surpreender. Um dia destes eu estava na web procurando novidades sobre paper dolls e de repente meus olhos foram atraídos por esta paper doll de Andre Agassi, um famoso tenista do final dos anos 80. Não posso falar muito sobre Andre Agassi. Só me lembro de vê-lo nas páginas da revista alemã Bravo, mas não conseguia ler porque não sabia uma palavra em alemão. Naquela época seu corte de cabelo estava na moda ... e eu era apenas uma adolescente que gostaria de um corte de cabelo como ele! Sobre a paper doll, só sei que foi publicado na revista Tennis na edição de julho de 1991, mas tenho certeza de que gostarão tanto quanto eu. Até à proxima!
