Guido Crepax (15 July 1933 - 31 July 2003, Italy) is a bigger name of fummetti or better saying European comics or better still world comics.

His work is well known, with an endless list of titles filled with literary, political and philosophical references. 

However, what remains in our minds is the graphic representation of his female characters, in a thin, delicate and rich in detail, living in dreamlike and erotic environments, where he unreservedly exposes their sexuality to the eyes of the reader. 

His most famous character will undoubtedly be the photographer Valentina (Rosselli)! With a haircut reminiscent of Louise Brooks, she has lived for thirty-five years her adventures whose situations become increasingly compromising in surreal environments of espionage, fantasy and science fiction. Valentina will be perhaps the only cartoon character to age over the years, side by side with her creator, as her stories were published.

Crepax has been and continues to be an inspiration to many renowned artists and intellectuals as well as legions of readers around the world.

As it could not be otherwise, I share a magnificent paper doll by Guido Crepax inspired by his characters and the atmosphere of his stories.

 Guido Crepax (15 July 1933 - 31 July 2003, Italy) é um nome maior do fummetti ou melhor dizendo da banda desenhada europeia ou melhor dizendo banda desenhada mundial. O seu trabalho é sobejamente conhecido, com uma lista interminável de títulos repleta de referencias literárias, políticas e filosóficas. No entanto o que nos fica na mente é a representação gráfica dos seus personagens femininos, num traço fino, delicado e rico em detalhes  em ambientes oníricos e eróticos, onde expõe sem reservas a sua sexualidade aos olhos do leitor. O seu personagem mais famoso será sem duvida a fotografa/repórter Valentina(Rosselli)! Com um corte de cabelo fazendo lembrar Louise Brooks, vai vivendo ao longo de trinta e cinco anos as suas aventuras cujas situações se tornam cada vez mais comprometedoras em ambientes surreais de espionagem, fantasia e ficção científica. Valentina será talvez a única personagem de banda desenhada a envelhecer ao longo dos anos,ladoa a lado com o seu criador, consoante as suas histórias iam sendo publicadas. Crepax foi e continua a ser uma inspiração para muitos artistas e intelectuais de renome bem como para legiões de leitores ao redor do mundo. Livin' La Vida Loca

Nazário (1944-) is a well-known European underground comic artist from Spain. 

The young artist lived in the first persona in Barcelona, countercultural and libertine in the last years of Francoism and the first of transition: hippies, shared floors, communes, homosexuality lived without complexes, pimps, threesomes, boys and ghettos, pot, acids, liters of alcohol and, above all, a feeling of freedom.

His comics "ridiculed the fundamental Spanish moral values" instituted in traditional Spanish society, such as female virginity and sexual abstinence. Nazário is a contemporary artist from Tom of Finland and designed the first gay comic book in Spain in the early 70s: La Piraña Divina. Because of this he was persecuted by the authorities.

Nazário's most well known work is Anarcoma, a comic strip about a transvestite detective - half Humphrey Bogart, half Lauren Bacall according to the author - in an openly homosexual, sometimes pornographic environment. 

Although Anarcoma is his best-known work, Mujeres Raras - disclaimed by publishers and the public - is considered by the author one of his best works. Nazário, tired of painting 'pollas' (dicks), created several stories with complicated love stories such as Salomé, a free version of Oscar Wilde's work; Amantes based on a story by Pu Songling; a series of amusing Greek epigrams with Jupiter, its disguises and its lovers, as protagonists; a detailed and sadomasochistic account of the martyrdom of a Christian saint or Helena the monologue of a woman who wanted to stop loving her lover and does not know how to confess it. With Ali Babá y los 40 maricones where he explores various archetypes of homosexuals, he says goodbye to comics.

With a long career full of many works of art and awards, Nazário continues his career in the editorial market, publishing, making exhibitions and giving interviews where he talks openly about his work, his rich life experiences and the historical context in which he lived.

Paper doll tribute to celebrate Tom's of Finland's 100th birthday

I wish I had done this tribute to Tom of Finland (May, 8/1920 - November, 7/ 1991) earlier to celebrate his 100th birthday on May 8. Despite participating in the tribute on Instagram, I didn't have the opportunity to do it here.

Tom of Finland is well known for his illustrations and comics with homo-erotic content. Tom of Finland changed the mindset of generations by creating a male homosexual model against the stereotype that removes homosexuals from any aspect of masculinity.

I met Tom of Finland's work through a collection of postcards from Taschen publisher in the late 90's. Despite being impressed by the artistic and aesthetic quality of his work

I didn't memorize the artist's name until I saw a TV report that talked about him and the importance of his work in changing the mentality of a century which was approaching its end. Tom of Finland, with his art, celebrated the pleasure and the joy of relationships between healthy and muscular men who proudly display themselves in military uniforms, leather clothes or simple clothes stretched to their bodies. 

He almost never drew a full nude. A naked man was handsome, but all he had to do was put on a piece of clothing and, more than pretty, it made him sexy- Tom said.

Tom evaluated the quality of a good drawing of him if, when drawing, he felt a great erection, otherwise he would change his drawing.

His "dirty drawings" (as he called them) in graphite and Indian ink gained popularity through Physique Pictorial magazine. The exhibitions appeared, followed by public recognition. Tom of Finland is today a reference in the world of erotic art.

There is a Tom of Finland's paper doll. It is Kake the main character of his comics which was a success from the first issue! Kake has a tight jeans and t-shirts, leather jacket and police uniform plus two caps.

The Tom Of Finland Foundation is a non-profit foundation that brings together all of Tom of Finland's work and keeps his art and memory alive.

Here it is my contribute to the challenge launched by the Tom of Finland Foundation to celebrate the Tom of Finland's 100th birthday. I searched for references in Tom's characters and drew a male pin-up with two clothes, a tight bathing suit with a marine cap and leather pants with with boots anda a police cap (apologize for the censor smile).

Eu queria ter feito este tributo a Tom of Finland (8 de Maio de 1920 — 7 de Novembro de 1991) mais cedo para celebrar o seu 100º aniversário no dia 8 de maio. Apesar de participar na homenagem no Instagram não tive oportunidade de o fazer aqui. 

Tom of Finland é sobejamente conhecido pelas suas ilustrações e bandas desenhadas de teor homo-erótico. Tom of Finland mudou a mentalidade de gerações criando um modelo homossexual masculino contrariando o estereotipo que retira aos homossexuais qualquer aspeto de masculinidade.

Eu conheci o trabalho de Tom of Finland através de uma coleção de postais da editora Taschen no final dos anos 90.  Eu não fixei o nome do artista até ver uma reportagem na televisão que falava sobre ele e a importância do seu trabalho na mudança de mentalidades de um século que se aproximava do fim.

Tom of Finland com a sua arte celebrou o prazer e a alegria das relações entre homens saudáveis e musculados que orgulhosamente se exibem em uniformes militares, roupas de couro ou simples vestes de trabalho coladas ao corpo. Quase nunca desenhava um nu integral, um homem nú era bonito mas bastava vestir-lhe uma peça de roupa e mais do que bonito isso tornava-o sexy.

Tom avaliava a qualidade de um bom desenho seu se ao desenhá-lo sentisse uma grande ereção, senão mudava de desenho.

Os seus "dirty drawings"(como ele os chamava) a grafite e tinta da china ganharam popularidade através da revista Physique Pictorial. Seguiram-se as exposições e depois o reconhecimento do público. Tom of Finland é hoje uma referência no mundo da arte erótica mundial.

 Tom Of Finland Foundation é uma fundação sem fins lucrativos que reúne todo o trabalho de Tom of Finland e mantém viva a sua arte e a sua memória. Divirtam-se! 

The psychopath kit

Last year I went to the Comics Festival in Angoulême (France) where I found the fabulous stand of Fourbi Éditions entirely devoted to publications with activities on paper. Paper dolls were one of the subjects in these publications. I bought a few in particular the Super Fourbi Géant # 4 (spécial adultes), in a good quality edition, which has magnificent paper dolls in a more underground theme. I share here with you this Psychopathe en Kit by Ségolène Giroire (nan-gry@hotmail.fr). There is a paper doll with lots of outfits and accessories. There is a paper doll with many clothes and accessories. There is a paper doll with many clothes and accessories. If you notice in one hand has a special cut line and in the other you can fold it both to hold the accessories.

No ano passado, fui ao Festival de Banda Desenhada em Angoulême (França), onde encontrei o fabuloso stand da  Fourbi Éditions inteiramente dedicada a publicações com atividades em papel. Paper dolls eram um dos temas dessas publicações. Eu comprei alguns em particular o Super Fourbi Géant # 4 (especial para adultos) numa edição de boa qualidade que tem paper dolls magníficos numa temática mais underground. Eu partilho aqui este Psychopathe en Kit de Ségolène Giroire (nan-gry@hotmail.fr). Tem um paper doll com muitas roupas e acessórios. Se você notar numa mão tem uma linha de corte especial e na outra pode-se dobrar, ambos para segurar os acessórios.

Trick or threat?

This paper doll is one of the favourites in my collection for several reasons. 

Despite being one of the oldest I have, one of the main reasons is for having been designed and published in a Portuguese magazine for an adult audience. It is the magazine Ego nº 1 published in June of 1997 and, we can say exclusively made for men.

Another reason is because it was designed by Nuno Saraiva, whose work I admire, one of the most talented and prolific plastic artists of my country.

There is one paper doll with stand up instructions and with  more than six outfits, which refer to a range of settings, fetishes and fantasies (note the white fluttering dress reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch), whose eroticization claimed by the title The Calamity: The tricks of a "succ(sex)ssful" (it's a pun with the word successful) young lady was lightened or justified by the intelligent humour of the comic pages that preceded this paper doll and which unfortunately I did not keep. : (  
So come play with her but don't be naughty!

Esta  paper doll é uma das preferidas da minha colecção por várias razões.  Apesar de ser uma das mais antigas que tenho, uma das principais razões é por ter sido desenhada e publicada numa revista para um público adulto. Trata-se da revista Ego nº 1 editada em Junho de 1997 e, podemos dizer exclusivamente feita para  homens.

Outra das razões é porque foi desenhada pelo Nuno Saraiva, cujo trabalho muito admiro, um dos mais talentosos e prolíficos artistas plásticos do meu país. 

São mais de seis out fits, que remetem para uma série de ambientes, fetiches e fantasias ( repare-se no vestido branco esvoaçante a lembrar Marilyn Monroe em "The seven year yitch"), cuja a erotização afirmada pelo título "A Calamidade: as tropelias de uma jovem de susexo" era aligeirada ou justificada pelo humor inteligente das páginas de banda desenhada que precediam esta paper doll e que infelizmente não guardei.

Clothes for George O' Mara

Hello again! 

There is another pin-up boy in the form of paper doll that I found on a postcard.

This is a 1950s vintage photo of the physical model George O'Mara, a popular 1950s bodybuilder posing for the Kris Studios (Leather Archives, Chicago) and later an actor of action movies. (I did not know about him, but I searched it up on Google and found lots of pictures of him. Hoooot!) :)

It seems to me that it was a work based on his original photo and reproduced later in Beefcake (Taschen, 1995).

Is there more about this? ;)

Olá mais uma vez! Aqui está outro pin-up boy boneco de papel que eu encontrei num postal. Esta é uma foto vintage dos anos 50 do modelo físico George O 'Mara, culturista popular dos anos 50 posando para os Kris studios (Leather Archives, Chicago) e mais tarde actor em filmes de acção.(Eu não o conhecia, mas eu procurei no Google e encontrei muitas fotos dele. Hoooot!) :)
Parece-me que é um trabalho baseado na sua foto original publicado posteriormente em Beefcake (Taschen. 1995). Será que há mais por aí? ;)

Easter eggs!

I share here with you one of my own creations that I made especially for you that visits my blog.

I made a paper doll with the Easter theme, for adults, I must say. I think there is a lack of paper dolls in this field. It seems to me that is where I can do a good job.

Here you have a pin-up boy with four clothes: a naughty rabbit, an Easter egg surprise (in this one you have to find the dotted line, there is no tabs), a funny chick and an Easter bunny.

I hope you enjoy and have a good time with him. Scissors up! ;)

Partilho aqui com vocês uma das minhas próprias criações que fiz especialmente para você que visita o meu blogue.

Eu fiz um boneco de papel com o tema da Páscoa, para adultos, devo dizer. Há falta de bonecos de papel neste campo. Parece-me que aqui é onde posso fazer um bom trabalho.

Há um pin-up boy com quatro roupas: um coelho travesso, uma surpresa de ovo da Páscoa, uma pintainho engraçado e um coelhinho da Páscoa.

Eu espero que se divirtam e passem um bom momento com ele. Tesouras ao alto! ;)
