An outfit for each ocasion

I found this images of this male paper doll that seems to me a 60's fashion catalogue of Confexim a textile company from Poland .. I think it is a nice idea showing the collection in a paper doll form. I can't ready the text, I think it is russian so I can't read the name of the artist if it is credited.

It's so rare found an item like this that I decided to share. I wonder to have it in my collection!

Encontrei as ilustrações desta paper doll que parece-me um catálogo de moda dos anos 60 da Confexim, uma empresa têxtil da Polônia. Acho uma boa idéia mostrar a coleção em formato de paper doll. Não consigo ler o texto, acho que é russo, então não consigo ler o nome do artista se ele estiver creditado.
É tão raro encontrar um item como esse que eu decidi compartilhar. Gostaria de tê-lo em minha coleção!

Happy Birthday Marilyn Monroe

I was about 8 or 9 years old when I first saw images of her. It was the first movie star that captivated me and that I followed over the years ... The most famous blonde in the world of show business. Her image of half-closed eyes and half-open mouth in a flowing white dress has become iconographic. Marilyn Monroe needs no introduction. Many things have already been said, done, seen, written about and the world of paper dolls is no exception.

When browsing the web we will find paper dolls illustrated by many artists with results so diverse that it is impossible to mention them all so I will share with you those that I consider best.

The first paper doll I purchased was from Mr. Tom Tierney published by Dover 1 doll and 31 costumes from twenty-four MM movies. It is very complete but in my opinion it is not his best work on MM.

For example The seven year itch dress which is one of the most well-known costumes worn by MM is very little detailed. Even the facial expression looks more a wannabe look alike. I cant remember where in the internet I found Macky's paper dolls, was the author name on the files, who taking advantage of the paper doll on Tom Tierney's book illustrated some of the outfits that are missing there. Anyway, it is therefore a must have for any  paper doll fan or MM fan.

If compared to DANNY'S BOYS The Female Impersonator Tom Tierney's paper doll, it has a paper doll with a facial and body expression much better illustrated  and the looks are very well detailed including the wigs for each look. Published by B.SHACKMAN COMPANY has two die-cut Paper Dolls and six pages with sixteen Fashionable and gorgeous Outfits.

Another paper doll about MM that I think is very original is illustrated by Ralph Hodgdon who has an incredible work of paper dolls. It is not the most similar paper doll in terms of facial expression but the choice of outfits on the first years of MM's career is very interesting and is not a theme that is much explored. It is welcome by the originality and detailed work!

Another example that deserves attention is illustrated by Marilyn Henry. It reminds me the vintage edition of American Beauties. “There are two dolls and eight clothing pages with 50 fashion items in all! With star biography by fashion expert David Wolfe and photos from the George Zeno collection, this book is treasure for paper doll collectors and fans of Marilyn Monroe!”

We can find other fine examples which deserves our attention by Bruce Patrick Jones, Eileen Rudisill Miller, David Wolfe, Gregg Nystrom, Jeff L Davies, Nancy Stahl, Basia Koening, Rauni Palonen, Cory Jensen, Gabriella Patterson or published like the one in swedish vintage Året Runt Magazine Marilyn-Monroe paper doll and many others.

Eu tinha cerca de 8 ou 9 anos quando vi imagens dela pela primeira vez. Foi talvez a primeira estrela de cinema que me cativou e que acompanhei ao longo dos anos... A loira mais famosa do mundo do show business. Sua imagem de olhos semicerrados e boca semiaberta num vestido branco esvoaçante tornou-se iconográfica. Marilyn Monroe não precisa de apresentações. Muitas coisas já foram ditas, feitas, vistas, escritas e o mundo das paper doll não é exceção. Ao navegar na web, encontraremos paper doll desenhadas por muitos artistas com resultados tão diversos que é impossível mencioná-los, por isso compartilharei com você aqueles que considero melhores. A primeira boneca de papel que comprei foi do Sr. Tom Tierney, publicada pela Dover e tem uma paper doll e trinta e um out fits de vinte e quatro filmes. É muito completo, mas na minha opinião não é o melhor trabalho de Tom tierney sobre MM. Por exemplo, o vestido de "O pecado mora ao lado", que é um dos vestidos mais conhecidos usados ​​por MM, está muito pouco detalhado. Até a expressão facial parece mais uma lookalike. Não me lembro onde, na internet, encontrei as paper dolls  de Macky, era o nome do autor nos arquivos, que tirando aproveitando a paper doll do livro de Tom Tierney desenhou algumas das roupas que estavam faltando lá. De qualquer forma não deixa de ser um item obrigatório para qualquer colecionador de paper doll ou fan de MM.
Se pudermos comparar com a paper doll de DANNY'S BOYS desenhada por Tom Tierney, ela tem uma expressão facial e corporal muito bem projetada e as roupas são muito bem detalhadas, incluindo as perucas para cada roupa. Publicado por B.SHACKMAN COMPANY tem duas bonecas de papel cortadas e seis páginas com dezesseis roupas elegantes e lindas. Outro paper doll sobre MM que eu acho muito original é desenhado por Ralph Hodgson, que tem um trabalho incrível de bonecos de papel. Não é a paper doll mais semelhante em termos de expressão facial, mas a escolha de roupas nos primeiros anos da carreira de MM é muito interessante e não é um tema muito explorado. É bem-vindo pela originalidade e pelo trabalho detalhado! Outro exemplo que merece atenção é desenhado por Marilyn Henry. Este trabalho lembra-me a edição vintage de American Beauties. “Existem paper dolls e oito páginas de roupas com cinquenta itens de moda ao todo! Com uma biografia escrita pelo especialista em moda David Wolfe e fotos da coleção George Zeno." Podemos encontrar outros exemplos que merecem nossa atenção, desenhadas por Bruce Patrick Jones, Eileen Rudisill Miller, David Wolfe, Jeff L Davies, Nancy Stahl, Basia Koening, Rauni Palonen, Cory Jensen, Gabriella Patterson ou publicados como os da revista sueca vintage Året Runt e muitos outros. Paper doll tribute to celebrate Tom's of Finland's 100th birthday

I wish I had done this tribute to Tom of Finland (May, 8/1920 - November, 7/ 1991) earlier to celebrate his 100th birthday on May 8. Despite participating in the tribute on Instagram, I didn't have the opportunity to do it here.

Tom of Finland is well known for his illustrations and comics with homo-erotic content. Tom of Finland changed the mindset of generations by creating a male homosexual model against the stereotype that removes homosexuals from any aspect of masculinity.

I met Tom of Finland's work through a collection of postcards from Taschen publisher in the late 90's. Despite being impressed by the artistic and aesthetic quality of his work

I didn't memorize the artist's name until I saw a TV report that talked about him and the importance of his work in changing the mentality of a century which was approaching its end. Tom of Finland, with his art, celebrated the pleasure and the joy of relationships between healthy and muscular men who proudly display themselves in military uniforms, leather clothes or simple clothes stretched to their bodies. 

He almost never drew a full nude. A naked man was handsome, but all he had to do was put on a piece of clothing and, more than pretty, it made him sexy- Tom said.

Tom evaluated the quality of a good drawing of him if, when drawing, he felt a great erection, otherwise he would change his drawing.

His "dirty drawings" (as he called them) in graphite and Indian ink gained popularity through Physique Pictorial magazine. The exhibitions appeared, followed by public recognition. Tom of Finland is today a reference in the world of erotic art.

There is a Tom of Finland's paper doll. It is Kake the main character of his comics which was a success from the first issue! Kake has a tight jeans and t-shirts, leather jacket and police uniform plus two caps.

The Tom Of Finland Foundation is a non-profit foundation that brings together all of Tom of Finland's work and keeps his art and memory alive.

Here it is my contribute to the challenge launched by the Tom of Finland Foundation to celebrate the Tom of Finland's 100th birthday. I searched for references in Tom's characters and drew a male pin-up with two clothes, a tight bathing suit with a marine cap and leather pants with with boots anda a police cap (apologize for the censor smile).

Eu queria ter feito este tributo a Tom of Finland (8 de Maio de 1920 — 7 de Novembro de 1991) mais cedo para celebrar o seu 100º aniversário no dia 8 de maio. Apesar de participar na homenagem no Instagram não tive oportunidade de o fazer aqui. 

Tom of Finland é sobejamente conhecido pelas suas ilustrações e bandas desenhadas de teor homo-erótico. Tom of Finland mudou a mentalidade de gerações criando um modelo homossexual masculino contrariando o estereotipo que retira aos homossexuais qualquer aspeto de masculinidade.

Eu conheci o trabalho de Tom of Finland através de uma coleção de postais da editora Taschen no final dos anos 90.  Eu não fixei o nome do artista até ver uma reportagem na televisão que falava sobre ele e a importância do seu trabalho na mudança de mentalidades de um século que se aproximava do fim.

Tom of Finland com a sua arte celebrou o prazer e a alegria das relações entre homens saudáveis e musculados que orgulhosamente se exibem em uniformes militares, roupas de couro ou simples vestes de trabalho coladas ao corpo. Quase nunca desenhava um nu integral, um homem nú era bonito mas bastava vestir-lhe uma peça de roupa e mais do que bonito isso tornava-o sexy.

Tom avaliava a qualidade de um bom desenho seu se ao desenhá-lo sentisse uma grande ereção, senão mudava de desenho.

Os seus "dirty drawings"(como ele os chamava) a grafite e tinta da china ganharam popularidade através da revista Physique Pictorial. Seguiram-se as exposições e depois o reconhecimento do público. Tom of Finland é hoje uma referência no mundo da arte erótica mundial.
